Today, Vineet Jain‘s The Times of India published an article by Meghna Dhulia or should we say an advertisement on Delhi’s education system, which is nothing but a ridiculous #KejriwalPRShow timed perfectly with elections.
Various previous media and government reports have raised serious questions on Delhi’s education system. Why did The Times of India forget to mention them? If this isn’t PR, then what is?
This #KejriwalPRShow article ignores:
- Govt school enrollment dropped by 1 lakh.
- Students in private schools increased; share up by 8%.
- No new schools built in 8 years despite available plots.
- Avg attendance dropped by 10%.
- Only 10% 12th graders took science.
- 30% students up to class 8th below basic level.
- Math & Science phobia among students.
- Several teaching posts remain vacant.
LG of Delhi raised these issues, but Arvind Kejriwal stayed silent.
The Times of India’s ‘All is well’ version of Delhi schools is pure PR.
Will they ever ask real, tough questions?
