Journalism is supposed to be an unbiased profession, where truth is reported without personal inclinations. However, in today’s era, certain media personalities have turned into outright propagandists, camouflaging their opinions as journalism. One such name that has emerged in recent times is Pratima Mishra—who, judging by her past and present social media activities, appears to have a clear anti-right-wing (RW) bias.
2014: Blaming Yogi Adityanath for a State Subject
One of the earliest indicators of her apparent bias was back in 2014 when she blamed Yogi Adityanath for power cuts in Gorakhpur while he was only an MP. This was an obvious misrepresentation of facts since electricity falls under the State Subject list, making the then-UP CM Akhilesh Yadav responsible for the situation—not Yogi.
Did she not know this fact? Or was she deliberately misleading her audience? The most likely explanation is her bias against the right wing, which she exhibited even at an early stage of her career.
Arvind Kejriwal’s PR Agent?
Years after her Yogi Adityanath tweet, Pratima Mishra was seen defending and supporting Arvind Kejriwal. In her tweet, she condemned the treatment meted out to him, describing it as shameful. This is the same journalist who had no problem attacking Yogi Adityanath for an issue beyond his control but became a protector of Kejriwal when he faced criticism.
This naturally raises a question—is she an independent journalist, or is she aligned with AAP’s PR machinery? Her social media activity makes it clear that she appears to be more sympathetic to opposition leaders while being aggressively critical of BJP and right-wing figures.
Attacking Modi Whenever Possible
Another pattern seen in her reporting is her eagerness to undermine PM Narendra Modi. On various occasions, she has actively spread narratives against Modi and the BJP, especially after electoral setbacks. When Modi lost a bypoll, she immediately suggested that the Modi wave was fading—a claim that didn’t hold much weight but was aggressively pushed.
Is this mere coincidence? Or is there an agenda to diminish Modi’s image while boosting the opposition?
The Larger Pattern of Anti-RW Journalism
The examples above are just a small part of the bigger picture. It is clear that Pratima Mishra has, over the years, taken a consistently anti-right-wing stance, while giving a free pass to left-leaning and opposition leaders.
This raises a serious question about journalistic ethics: is Pratima Mishra truly neutral, or is she just another media figure operating as a pawn for opposition politics?
The evidence suggests that she isn’t just reporting but is actively involved in shaping a biased narrative. If journalism is to retain its credibility, it is high time that such media figures are called out for their one-sided propaganda.
Stay tuned, as we continue digging deeper into the real motivations behind Pratima Mishra’s reporting.
