So-called journalists like Ajit Anjum or the fake news peddlers at The Wire are jumping in happiness via this article Musk’s AI Tool Grok Has Indian Rightwing Propagandists Worried , claiming that AI tools like Grok are exposing the Modi government.
In recent days, there has been a lot of noise on social media about AI tools like Grok and AskPerplexity giving responses that appear critical of the BJP, the Government of India, or right-wing influencers. Some have even gone to the extent of claiming that AI itself is “anti-government” or “anti-Modi.”
But before jumping to conclusions, let’s break down what AI really is.
What Is AI and How Does It Work?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not a person with opinions. It is a machine—a tool that processes vast amounts of data available on the internet and generates responses based on that data. AI does not have personal biases; it simply reflects the information it is trained on or what is most available on the web.
So, if Grok or AskPerplexity provides an anti-BJP response, it does not mean that AI is inherently “anti-government.” It means that the AI is picking up on existing content from the internet, where certain narratives—whether factual or fake—are more dominant.
Left-Wing Fake News Polluting AI Responses
One of the key issues is that the left-leaning media, opposition-backed activists, and troll networks have flooded the internet with anti-government narratives for years. Many of these are false but are repeated so often that they become widely available in AI training data.
For example, a search result showing criticism of the government does not necessarily mean it is true—it just means it has been published frequently. Lies are often louder and more widespread on the internet, while factual rebuttals, even if accurate, may be fewer in number. AI tools, relying on what is available, can sometimes present misinformation as truth simply because it is more frequently posted.

Humans Program AI—Not the Other Way Around
Another important point: AI is built and maintained by humans. If there is bias in AI-generated responses, it is because of the bias in the data sources AI relies upon. The internet is filled with left-leaning narratives, and unless countered with factual reporting and alternative sources, AI will continue to pull from these sources.
Take this example: A user asked Grok a question, and it gave a response critical of the Congress party and the Gandhis. This alone proves that AI does not have an ideological bias—it simply processes the data available. If the Congress ecosystem is outraged over AI-generated responses, they should remember that AI has also generated unfavorable content about them.
The noise around AI being “anti-BJP” is nothing but an attempt to mislead people. AI is a tool, not a political entity. If AI responses seem biased, it is because the internet is filled with biased content, much of it created by left-wing media and opposition forces. Instead of blaming AI, the real focus should be on ensuring factual content is made more visible and dominant in online discourse.
Congress and its ecosystem need to stop pretending that AI-generated responses are some ultimate truth against the BJP or the government. AI is not against the government—misinformation is.
